Krytyka - sublimacja agresji czy chęć wywierania wpływu na ludzi? Cieszyńska, Jadwiga The article covers the problems of criticism as one of forms of aggression and as a way to influence people. The author comments on the space between the critic and the recipient, who may be a reader, listener or viewer, of verbalised opinions and evaluations. The presented psychological approach towards criticism may inspire the construction of new critical theories. Jak dziś pisze się o kinie? Modele krytyki filmowej Skowronek, Bogusław The articles analyses the film review as a discourse genre. Peculiar naturę of contemporary critical texts, their main features, functions and social, cultural and medial conditions are discussed. The fundamental conceptual network originated from cultural and linguistic analysis, which predominantly uses established findings in the media studies, text linguistics and cognitivism. The features of the contemporary film criticism are first of all its democratic character, intermediality, intertextuality, sign hybridisation, consumerism strategy, getting closer to the genre of advertising, “no timing”, formatting of the target groups and textual conventionalisation. All of the described features of the film reviews constitute sets of co-existing and overlapping cultural facts. The contemporary film criticism through its changeability and heterogeneity inscribed itself in the changes of the present cultural paradigm. It was “re-defined” by objective cultural, social and philosophical phenomena which determined its forms and shapes. O przyczynach i sposobach (nie?) istnienia krytyki telewizyjnej Ogonowska, Agnieszka The article focuses on the presentation of the naturę of television and factors determining its language evolution, as well as forms and goals of presentation in the contemporary media such as television, the Internet, everyday and specialist journalism, or scholarly and semi-scholarly publications. A separate subject area is the analysis of various categories of television critics (”discourse communities”) and related virtual reader models, and also introducing the distinction into television criticism as a social institution and television criticism focused on its products. Cóż po krytyce w czasach postmodernizmu Bauer, Zbigniew The author attempts to demonstrate the change in the function of literary criticism against the background of widespread commercialization of culture. The change consists in departing from the interpretation of a certain hermeneutic conduct and from the process of discover- ing senses to standard reviewing activities and approaching the area of public relations and advertising. Contemporary criticism is either a variety of journalism or a direct form of image creation (image of a book, publishing house or an author). The author of the article suggests an opinion that criticism depends on a piece of work, which is actually the object of criticism. If art denounces referentiality, should the criticism of art use language based on reference? Should perhaps, the piece of art be sent to an area which it itself is not willing to be found in. Should we find contexts for it which are not in any way valid, asks the author.
