Asceza jako jedno z działań transgresyjnych w świetle myśli chrześcijańskiej Tański, Marek The author considers both philosophical and psychological aspects of Karol Wojtyla’s understanding of the religious ascetism as a standard way of overcoming one’s own ego. The ascetism is presented: from the perspective of „healthy-minded” and pathological religiousness, against the theory of Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, in comparison with Karen Horney’s theory of neurosis, against the concept of „to be and to have” by Erich Fromm, on the plane of the axiological ethics in general and against suffering, and finally within the American version of vita contemplativa. The conception of the inner experience by Master Eckhart serves as a starting point for philosophical and theological discussion on the religious ascetism. Problematyka etyki środowiskowej w nauczaniu Jana Pawła II Sebesta, Antonina Eco-ethics is a subject of consideration in many of John Paul II’s writings and speeches. The Pope successfully combines the questions of environmental protection and ethical message which is the usual quality of His attitude and of Christian tradition both in its Benedictine and Franciscan formula. The author defines the attitude of Pope John Paul II towards eco-ethics dilemmas in terms of liberate anthropocentrism tending to theocentrism, for the reason the Supreme Being is the definitive justification for eco-ethics principles. Careful consideration is given to the objective and subjective nature of principles. Wojtyla’s definition of moral principles, the origin of moral ethics and its individualistic dimension are being discussed.
