Desakralizacja przestrzeni publicznej w latach 80. XX wieku w Polsce - jej uwarunkowania i konsekwencje
Brynkus, Józef
Desacralisation in Peoples Poland referred to the objects in the public space. It rested
on delimiting the construction of new religious infrastructure, the promotion of
the secular system of values, creating of the attitudes and behaviours desired by the
communists. The manifestation of the religious practice was restricted, tradition
was questioned and the customs originating from the Christian religion were depreciated.

Stan kawalerski i szczęście małżeńskie. Dom i codzienność emigranta polistopadowego
Chudzio, Hubert
In 1831, after the November Uprising against the Russian Empire, several thousand
of Poles managed to emigrate from their country. The emigrants were practically
only men. The vast majority of them spent long years abroad, mainly in France and
Great Britain, remaining unmarried. They formed a rather specific community of
old bachelors and finally only some of them managed to get married. The chapter
entitled “The Bachelor State and Married Happiness. The Home and Daily life of an
November Uprising Emigrant” is dedicated to the everyday life and the peripeties of
the Polish emigrants. It discuss their relationships with women and presents a path
leading to marriage.

The present paper is an attempt to present the issue of burgher townhouse and urban
dwelling. The article stressed research problems related with recognition of Late
Mediaeval and Early Modern architecture of a burgher house in small Lesser Poland
towns. As an example served 4 towns: Chrzanów, Grybów, Stary Sącz i Czeladź. The
appearance of Lesser Poland burgher houses is well recognised only in the largest
city in the region, namely in Cracow. There are numerous town, whose housing
blocks are poorly examined or not known at all. Our knowledge about townhouses
and urban dwelling there is still low. To reach that goal, it is necessary to combining
various disciplines such as history, art history, architecture, urban history and
archeology.

Rajman, Jerzy
Author analyses sources showing medieval monastery as a place of living for monks.
The issue of ‘household space’ is described in regards to the monastery of Ordo S.
Sepulchri in Miechów mentioned in many sources. Writer describes also small monasteries
of the same order, provostries in Stradom near Kraków, in suburbs of Bytom
and in Żarnowiec. In second half of XIV century the monastery in Miechów contained
bedrooms, refectory, kitchen and other buildings. In the next century were added
bedrooms for winter and summer time, room for ill, hall near refectory and basement.
The square building contained two floors. Separate living area was designated for a
provost. Brewery, school, bathroom were also available in the area of monastery. The
monastery in Stradom had also separate house for provost and separate for monks.
There were also buildings of a similar purpose as in Miechów. Ordo S. Sepulchri headquarters
in Bytom and Żarnowiec were simple, wooden houses containing porch,
kitchen and two rooms. Author also mentions sources about furnishings (ovens, furniture,
clocks, etc.).
