<title>Fotoamator: Piotr Śpiewla (1905–1978)</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11716/6946</link>
<description>Fotoamator: Piotr Śpiewla (1905–1978)
Zborowska, Natalia
The article presents a photographer from the Polish village Zembrzyce, Piotr Śpiewla, who&#13;
started his adventure with photography in the 1920s. Trying to rediscover his story, the&#13;
author confronts his image presented in recently published books with the memories he left&#13;
in peoples’ minds and the image on photographs. The article presents his local social activity,&#13;
and shows the surprising place he has gained in the history of his village.

<title>Oblicza fantazji – Joel-Peter Witkin</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11716/6945</link>
<description>Oblicza fantazji – Joel-Peter Witkin
Jakubowski, Piotr
The article contains two parts. In the first, the Author describes the theoretical background&#13;
for analysing the photographs by an American controversial artist – Joel-Peter Witkin; the&#13;
analysis is carried out in the second part of the paper. The realistic, authenticity-oriented&#13;
visions of W. Benjamin, R. Barthes or S. Sontag are confronted with Witkin’s creativeness&#13;
spirit – clearly manipulating in matters of the order of reality (and its rules of appearance) and&#13;
photographical stuff. This attitude is supported by François Soulages’ views on aesthetics.

<title>Opowieści erotyczno-tanatyczne. O fotografiach Cindy Sherman</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11716/6944</link>
<description>Opowieści erotyczno-tanatyczne. O fotografiach Cindy Sherman
Siuta, Justyna
The text covers the coexistence of libido and the death drive in Cindy Sherman’s art. Her&#13;
photographs show morphing, repulsive bodies. Photography as such is characterised by the&#13;
two above-mentioned opposite drives: it is a fetish and a trace of the past. The connection&#13;
between Eros and Thanatos becomes closer in Cindy Sherman’s art.
