O iluzji czasu, sklonowanym życiu, wirtualnym raju, sztuce i edukacji w Second Life

O iluzji czasu, sklonowanym życiu, wirtualnym raju, sztuce i edukacji w Second Life
Petry, Małgorzata
The author uses the term virtual world to describe Second Life (SL), the product of the US company Linden Lab
from San Francisco launched in 2003. Using avatars, its users move in a three-dimensional space as in many other
multiplayer online games. The author points out differences between such games and Second life. She
discusses all most significant elements of the project, inter alia the genesis of the avatar figure as well as
its advantages and disadvantages. In particular, she focuses on the presence of culture and art in the virtual
space as presented in the equivalents of real cities, their monuments, schools and universities, museums and
private galleries as well as works of art themselves. Further, the author discusses issues related to ethical
values and various forms of spirituality generated within the framework of this project.

Warsztat podręczny Juliana Jończyka

Warsztat podręczny Juliana Jończyka
Stano, Bernadeta
Art historians tend to identify Julian Jończyk with a few trends in art such as material painting at the outset of
his work in the 2nd half of the 1950ies and concrete poetry, as well as performance and environment installations
started in the mid-1970ies. In particular, the paper investigates the second phase of the artist’s work, with focus
on projects and works related to both the artist’s own texts and his image of his body, united by the joint
category of space. The artist presented his ideas in detailed conceptual essays. His works are richly
documented by photographs and carefully edited catalogues. Yet Jończyk’s oeuvre still waits for a thorough academic
analysis.

Szalone lata 80. i 90. Wokół grafiki własnej
Oramus, Romuald
The text contains the author’s reflections upon his own printmaking output created over the two decades, but it
also goes back to the 1970ies and describes the atmosphere at the printmaker’s workshops at the Academy of Fine
Arts in Kraków. Summing up this period, the author concludes that in depictions of figures there dominated
geometrized planes of black while colours were flat and contrasted with more expressively depicted physiognomies.
In the following series of etchings, aquatints and drawings from the 1980ies there appear existential motifs linked
with the folk socio-political context. They present a commentary on the reality of the day. Most of them are
monochromatic compositions, usually black and white, some of them, however, have their colour equivalents made in a
monotype-related technique.
