Jak pogodzić się z nieuchronnym? Ars moriendi według Henninga Mankella

Jak pogodzić się z nieuchronnym? Ars moriendi według Henninga Mankella
Karnat, Anna
The text concerns the colorful character of the Swedish writer Henning
Mankell (1948–2015), whose various activities went far beyond the universally
understood role of the creator of literature. He is known not only
as of the creator of criminal novels, moral, children’s literature and playwright
but also as a social activist, an observer of changes taking place
in his native Sweden and a critic of relations prevailing in the modern
world. Part of my reflection relates to Mankell’s latest book, Quicksand:
What It Means to Be a Human Being (Polish: Grząskie piaski), which is
a kind of the writer’s farewell to readers and the world. The awareness of
the inevitable death caused the essays that make up the book to be very
personal, and at the same time showing the attitude of man in the face of
death. This attitude has the hallmarks of a universal human experience
of the end of life.

Praktyki religijne i agendy socjalizacyjne. Przykład polskich i białoruskich studentów
Borecka, Wiktoria; Czakon-Tralski, Dorota; Pliszka, Bogdan
The paper focuses on comparative studies conducted among students in
Poland and Belarus. It describes different aspects of religiosity such as
students’ religious identity, religious practices connected with frequency
of prayer, the observance of Lent, reading religious literature, as well as
the role of socialization. The hypothesis to verify, based on acknowledgement
of cultural similarity, staying in the same zone of political
influence and spatial proximity for tens of years, implies that faith, religious
practices and religious socialization – acquired mostly in families
– are similar among Polish and Belarusian students. This hypothesis was
not confirmed by our studies. Religiosity of Polish and Belarusian students
is different.

Perspektywy życiowe a nieprzystosowanie społeczne i struktura agresywności w grupie uczniów zasadniczych szkół zawodowych
Czerwińska-Jakimiuk, Ewa
The main objective of the empirical study is to examine the relationship
between the life prospects, including the assessment of the social reality
of the country, occupational role (strain) and the social maladjustment,
the structure of aggressiveness in the pupils group. An additional aim
of the research was to analyze the relationship between the violation of
the control (ineffective social control) of the primary groups – family
and school and life prospects. The study was conducted in March 2013.
The hypotheses were tested on 85 male pupils. Surveys and self-report
were used in the research. The data were processed using the statistical
package SPSS. In order to verify the hypotheses, the Pearson’s correlation
coefficient was used. The results confirmed most of the assumed
relationships between variables.

Przemiany ludzkiej seksualności: od kontroli ku samowoli; od nimbu świętości ku zwyczajności; od wstydu do bezwstydu

Przemiany ludzkiej seksualności: od kontroli ku samowoli; od nimbu świętości ku zwyczajności; od wstydu do bezwstydu
Zbyrad, Teresa
Human sexuality has changed profoundly over the centuries. Once controlled
by the state, religion and family, it nowadays becomes a private
human affair. We are observing some changes in the area of human sexuality.
There has been a shift from control to freedom; from holiness to
ordinariness; and even decency was removed, which resulted in widespread
shamelessness. Sexuality is almost ubiquitous in society, especially
in the media, in culture, and in advertising. The paper focuses on
the changes in sexuality, reaching for tradition and religion, up to modern
times.
