<title>Sztuka autoreklamy czy autoreklama sztuki. O rolach pisarza postmodernisty</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11716/5936</link>
<description>Sztuka autoreklamy czy autoreklama sztuki. O rolach pisarza postmodernisty
Czubała, Henryk
The author presents advertising and marketing strategies used by Polish writers, as well as persuasion techniques &#13;
as manifestations of a new role of the writer in the post-modernist culture, which is being formed nowadays. The &#13;
subject matter of the analysis and interpretation is the role of the writer as seducer and persuasion means of &#13;
appealing to the reader. The author considers these new phenomena as factors enriching literature, which possess &#13;
also nihilistic, destructive aspects with reference to traditional functions of art, and especially its ability &#13;
to appeal to metaphysical sensitivity.

<title>Wielogatunkowość "Sagi o wiedźminie" Andrzeja Sapkowskiego</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11716/5935</link>
<description>Wielogatunkowość "Sagi o wiedźminie" Andrzeja Sapkowskiego
Roszczynialska, Magdalena
Andrzej Sapkowski’s book resembles the saga because of its compilative nature, romantic plot, elements of a &#13;
chronicle and the presence of Celtic and Roman motifs. According to the author himself ‘saga’ is not so much a &#13;
genologic name as it is the publisher’s marketing device to define this as fantasy. The sylvic nature of the Saga &#13;
of the Wizard is clearly reflected in its multi-genre character. Characters’ actions are the motivating force in &#13;
the presentation of the richness of depicted reality, in which the Saga... resembles an epic. The fantastic vein &#13;
in the novel excludes references to real historic facts; almost all events, languages, literary and scientific &#13;
works (including historic ones) alluded to in the text belong to the created world and their status is pseudo-&#13;
authentic. Magic present in the Saga... is set in the fantasy context, which contributes to the parabolic &#13;
readings of Sapkowski’s book. Stories of a wizard are related to fairy tales, however they violate ethical &#13;
determinism of the latter. Fairy tales aim at an axiological target in the plot whereas Sapkowski”s novel can be &#13;
classified, according to Stanisław Lem’s typology, a game with a non-zero total. A characteristic feature of the &#13;
Saga is an excessive and ostentatious use of literature by other authors and of different epochs. Sapkowski uses &#13;
ready prefabricated products delivered equally by high and mast- culture. The compilative nature of the novel and &#13;
unusual multi-level, meandering narrative determine epistemological incapability, cognitive chaos and ironic &#13;
tones in Sapkowski’s book.

<title>Dom dzienny, dom nocny Olgi Tokarczuk. W poszukiwaniu utraconej tożsamości</title>

<description>Dom dzienny, dom nocny Olgi Tokarczuk. W poszukiwaniu utraconej tożsamości
Sosin, Beata Klaudia
The article participates in the ‘post-modernist debate’ and attempts to look into the issue of post-modernism in &#13;
the Polish native environment. The problems emerge as a result of the analysis of the novel by Olga Tokarczuk &#13;
entitled Dom dzienny, dom nocny. Intertextuality, which is the author’s intentional devise, is the main issue &#13;
here together with the function of discourse. Dialogues, quotations and literary allusions designate a multi-&#13;
level reception of the work. The problem that comes into play is the boundary between originality and &#13;
intertextual connotations introduced by the author. The important part comes with the analysis of the motif of &#13;
home and the categories of time and space that are especially important and characteristic of the novel. Home &#13;
perceived as the ‘universe’ makes us consider the longing for the lost identity and condition of the man at the &#13;
end of the 20th century. The sense of roots and uprooting, mythological interpretation of the home, and finally &#13;
the world conceived as a puzzle call for the discussion about conflicting global and identity tendencies. The &#13;
article attempts to answer the question of what this ‘true home’ is and what it is like.

<title>Czy realizm magiczny? O prozie Andrzeja Stasiuka</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11716/5933</link>
<description>Czy realizm magiczny? O prozie Andrzeja Stasiuka
Małek, Bogumiła
The prose of Andrzej Stasiuk does not undergo easy interpretation and description. Stasiuk’s subsequent works &#13;
seem to follow different aesthetic formulas and different narrative rules. Dukla adds a new principle of anti-&#13;
featureness and fragmentarism to prior searches within the genre of small narrative forms and novels. The &#13;
narrative focuses on the description of a small provincial town, things and places that the narrator can see, &#13;
record and juxtapose accidentally, apparently with no plan. However, the details of the presentation, narrative &#13;
returns to place and things already described, their emotional colouring transform the provincial everyday &#13;
reality into the world full of hidden magic meanings that are not named.
