Edytorskie koncepcje i praktyka wydawcy Józefa Ignacego Kraszewskiego

Abstract

Celem pracy było zbadanie, jak ewoluowała edytorska praktyka, umiejętności i poglądy Jozefa Ignacego Kraszewskiego. Temat przedstawiono możliwie kompletnie, oprócz zagadnień z teorii edytorstwa i tekstologii, zawarto również wiedzę z zakresu historii historiografii, historii czasopiśmiennictwa i księgoznawstwa. Omówiono też największe osiągnięcia redakcyjne pisarza m. in. historię miasta Wilna, edycje pism Kazimierza Brodzińskiego i dramatów Williama Szekspira. W rozprawie scalono rozproszone wizerunki Kraszewskiego-pisarza, historyka, dziennikarza, działacza polityczno-społecznego. Ustalono, na tle innych wydawców źródeł pierwszej połowy XIX wieku, przyjętą przez Kraszewskiego strategię metaedytorską. W dysertacji ukazano, w jaki sposób romantyczny kreacjonizm walczył o prymat z sumiennością historyka. Podczas analizy prac redaktorskich dokonano mikroanalizy językowej różnych wersji tekstu (oddalonych od siebie nawet o 20 lat). Ukazano m. in. wpływ stylu wydawanego tekstu lub wyraźne odciski osobowości badacza w języku aparatu naukowego. W pracy przedstawiono więc sposób tworzenia się konwencji wydawniczej w XIX wieku i doniosły w tym udział Kraszewskiego.

The purpose of the study was to examine the evolution of the editorial practice, skills and views of Józef Ignacy Kraszewski. The subject has been presented as fully as possible, except for the issues concerning the theory of editorship and textual criticism; in the thesis the author has also contained the knowledge of the history of historiography, history of journalism and bibliography. Also, the greatest achievements of the writer in editorship, among others: history of the city of Vilnius, editions of the literary output of Kazimierz Brodziński as well as plays by William Shakespeare. In his thesis the author has integrated scattered images of Kraszewski the writer, historian, journalist, political and social activist. It has been established what the meta-editorial strategy assumed by Kraszewski was in comparison with the background of other editors of the first half of the 19th century. The author of the dissertation has shown how the romantic creationism fought for primacy with the conscientiousness of a historian. In the course of the analysis of the editorial work, the author achieved the linguistic micro-analysis of various versions of the text (written even at 20-year intervals). The author has presented, among others, the influence of the style of the edited text or distinct imprints of the researcher's personality in the language of the scholarly apparatus. Thus, the author has presented in the thesis the way of the creation of the editorial convention in the 19th century and Kraszewski's significant participation in this process.
