Special Forces constituting a specific type of armed forces of each state play an important role in combating non-standard threats to the security of contemporary states. Contemporary Special Forces are used in various types of the world as a tool with which the most complex military operations are conducted. Polish Special Forces were formed during World War II. They were also an integral part of the SZ during the PRL. Their role and significance changed after Poland’s accession to NATO and participation in the activities of international coalitions fighting terrorism. Currently, Polish Special Forces are perceived as professional formations capable of carrying out the most complex wax operations. At present, the Special Forces are important as an instrument of Polish foreign and defense policy. First of all, the Special Forces should be viewed through the prism of state security and the role they play in the entire national security system.en_EN
