dc.description.abstractCharity organizations have played a key role in a civil society over the ages. They contribute to the process of creating the reality we live in, and often provide solutions which are not available to public or private organizations. The aim of the article is to describe the activities of charity organizations in the exceptional conditions of the Poland Partition in the period from 1975 to 1918, considering characteristics and differences between occupied territories. The conducted analysis of source materials helped formulate findings and evaluate charity activities, which to some extend are the answer to the question: how charity organizations influenced the security of the local people, whole nation and its further functioning?en_EN
