The broadly understood development of techniques and information technologies as well as the emergence of new challenges and threats related to security, maintaining peace and stability in the global dimension have led to the evolution and transformations of warcraft, giving encourage to changing the existing methods of fighting. New ways of accessing information from anywhere in the world and at any time, the ability to select, display and store it – that all allowed to create the knowledge necessary to gain a dominance over the opponent. Under such conditions a new military idea was born – network centrism. The observed widespread use of network centrism and its effectiveness in warfare have emerged the need to answer the question what the network centricity is – whether just an idea, a method of action or a military doctrine? If so, does it qualify a doctrine as a system of scientifically valid views? The following considerations are an attempt to answer there and many other questions.en
