„Rękodzieło i Przemysł” jako źródło do badań nad życiem społeczno-gospodarczym rzemieślników żydowskich Krakowa w okresie międzywojennym

Abstract

The article analyzes the possibility of using Jewish profession-themed press in widely understood historic research. Said analysis was done on the example of “Rękodzieło i Przemysł” which was one of the most important business paper of interwar Cracow. Various topics of socio-economic lives of Jewish craftsmen of Cracow and Małopolska were found in the newspaper. Also featured were economic and political events of that period, as well as the activity of numerous craftsmen organizations whose documents were lost during the war. The multiplicity and diversity of topics make “Rękodzieło i Przemysł” a valuable, and sometimes the only historic source for studying the socio-economic lives of the Jewish community in Cracow.
