Weekly „Światowid” was issued between 1924 and 1939 by the press group “Ilustrowany Kuriery Codzienny”. In the beginning a Vienna-based printing house was used, yet when newer technology was obtained, the printing could be continued in Poland. What characterized the newspaper was extensive use of photos and short commentaries. This style was kept throughout the whole existence of the weekly. In the beginning, it was aimed at the elites of the Second Polish Republic as the majority of content was connected to them. The amount of iconography content was significant. The content was obtained from foreign agencies, and later on from local photographers who were encouraged to work with the paper. “Światowid” was the first of Polish periodicals to use colorized photos. The layout was one of many elements that made it worth to get the weekly. It is also worth mentioning that foreign readers were also able to get their copy alongside other papers of the press group. Marian Dąbrowski introduced numerous innovative solutions.en
