Kasztelan miński Michał Rokicki (1748–1779) w świetle pośmiertnych druków panegirycznych

Abstract

Celem artykułu jest przeanalizowanie początków przemian w barokowej pompie funeralnej, które zachodziły pod wpływem oświecenia. Materiałem do analizy stała się relacja z pogrzebu senatorskiego – Michała Rokickiego, kasztelana mińskiego, w której uchwytne są pierwsze zapowiedzi modyfikacji i ograniczania wybranych elementów, łączonych z barokowymi ceremoniami – zmiany w kazaniach, mowach, dekoracjach okolicznościowych i sferze audio.

The figure of castellan Michał Rokicki has not been the subject of separate biographical studies so far. The preserved occasional prints allow us to present the biography of the castellan, who died suddenly, at the peak of his activity, having been a senator for only one year. The biographical element deserves special attention, thanks to the materials used, it was possible to establish the family connections of the deceased. Postmortem prints provided insight into the organization of the senator’s pompa funebris in the late 18th century. The article analyzes issues related to the organization of the funeral. All these issues allow for the expansion of current knowledge on the old Polish pompa funebris and senator’s funeral.
