Religia w społeczeństwie wielokulturowym. Wybrane aspekty

Abstract

Zwiększa się rola czynnika religijnego na arenie międzynarodowej, w połączeniu z rosnącą świadomością znaczenia elementów religijnych w wywoływaniu i zmniejszaniu napięć w wielokulturowym świecie. Zależność religii i porządku społecznego okazuje się być kwestią wielkiej rangi społecznej, politycznej, prawnej. W jakimś stopniu było tak zawsze w historii, obecnie jednak różnorodność wyznaniowa, wraz ze wzrastającą globalną współzależnością dużych grup ludzkich i problemami tożsamościowymi, wywołuje napięcia w skali dotąd nieznanej. Stawia to przed badaczami istotne zadania o znaczeniu nie tylko czysto poznawczym, teoretycznym, ale także związane z praktycznymi wyzwaniami społecznymi, których wyrazistym przykładem są dramatyczne wydarzenia migracyjne ostatnich miesięcy w A fryce i Europie. Z drugiej strony, cechą czasów nam współczesnych jest rozwój form dialogu religijnego i współpracy międzywyznaniowej w rozmiarach i formach niespotykanych w przeszłości. W artykule podjęta została próba ukazania wybranych aspektów związanych w miejscem i rolą religii w relacjach międzykulturowych, ukazanych na tle różnych modeli organizacyjnych przyjmowanych w krajach Zachodu. Z uwzględnieniem procesów zachodzących w samych społecznościach wyznaniowych, czyli dynamiki życia religijnego w tych krajach.

The role of the religious factor in the international scene, combined with the growing awareness of the importance of religious elements in the mounting and defusing tensions in our multicultural world is increasing. Hence the correlation between religion and social order proves to be a matter of great social, political and legal magnitude. To a certain extent this has always existed in the history, however nowadays, religious diversity with the increasing global interdependence of large groups of people and identity problems heightens the tensions on a scale which has hitherto been unknown. Thus researchers are faced with significant tasks of not only purely cognitive or theoretical importance, but also related to practical social challenges which are exemplified expressively by dramatic events of migration in Africa and Europe in the recent months. On the other hand, development of religious dialogue and interfaith cooperation in all sizes and forms unprecedented in the past is a feature of our times. In the article the author makes an attempt to show some aspects related to the role and position of religion in the intercultural relations depicted on a background of different organizational models adopted in the Western countries, taking into consideration the processes occurring in their religious communities that is the dynamics of religious life in these countries.
