dc.description.abstractA description is given of the migration and further fate of Leydig’s cells in studies on the course of regeneration of the hind limb of the axolotl during 10 months. Five developmental stages of Leydig’s cells were distinguished. It was found that most of the Leydig’s cells penetrating the regenerate disappear, and that the final complex of these cells is mainly formed by the differentiation of epithelial cells. It was shown that the differentiation of Leydig’s cells is not connected with the previous production of pigment granules in the cytoplasm of these cells. Gersch’s observations (1942) were also confirmed. She considered that cells already possessing juxtanuclear cytoplasm and secretion granules could still undergo mitotic division, in spite of so high a degree of differentiation. The formation of secretion granules in the cytoplasm was observed, which agrees with the finding that reticulum endoplazmaticum occurs just in this part of the Leydig cell. (Hay 1961).en_EN
