Upon the basis of extensive literature, the author discusses in the article the influence of some physical and chemical factors upon the activity of the neuro-secretive system. Upon studying a number of reports on the subject, the author reaches the conclusion that physical factors (such as visible, ultra-violet and X-ray radiation) aa well as chemical drugs and compounds induce in both humans and animals an increase or a decrease of the secretive activity of neuro-secretive hypothalamic nuclei and of the nerve part of the hypophysis, which undoubtedly is reflected upon the functioning of other secretion glands, steered by the hypothalamus.en_EN
