The author has described the development of multilocular glands in the limb and tail regenerates of axolotl, within ten months after the amputation of these organs. The growth of glands is anatomically connected with the formation of the basilar membrane which is to be found already in a 22-day regenerate of limb and tail. On the other hand, the first nuclei of multilocular glands in the limb regenerate develop somewhat later, five weeks after the amputation. They are located upon the basilar membrane, between the epithelial cells, from which they differ by their size and disposition. The differentiation of the young nuclei into mucuous end venomous (granular type) glands occurs later in the limb regenerate (7 weeks after the amputation). This differentation consists in the occurrence of mucuous or venomous secretion, and in a characteristic configuration of the glandular epithelial cells. The young glands are translocated into the forming layer of skin proper and gradually are surrounded with a thin layer of the connective-tissues fibres.en_EN
