Abstract

The article deals with the cytological characteristics of the different types of natural poliploids and with their ecological and geographical differentiation, as well aa with the typical mechanisms of their multiplication. The second part of the article has been devoted to synthetic poliploids, to the mathods by which they are obtained and to the role performed in present-day breeding by organisms with increased chromosome numbers.
