dc.description.abstract	The author of the paper discusses Dobroljubov’s views upon Dostoyevsky’s novel The Oppressed and the Depressed and confronts them with contemporary critics’ opinions. He indicates that the book in question was misunderstood and erroneously regarded as a specimen of social and psychological prose while it is a typical ideological novel, based upon the conflict of ideas and attitudes.	en_EN
