| dc.description.abstract | Altitudinal zonality of vegetation in Chentej is of boreal type (Sayan variant) (Yunatov, 1950). Its particular
feature are well developed forests and mountain taiga in medium — mountain zones and mountain tundra in high —
mountain zones.
Following vegetation zones are distinguished in the Sugnugurin-gol Basin (fig. 1):
1. steppe zone below 1100 (1150) m
2. forest-steppe zone (mountain steppe and forest zone), 1100—1400 (1450) m
3. mountain taiga zone, 1400 (1450)—2000 (2100)m
a. mountain taiga with Larix sibirica and Pinus sibirica subzone, 1400 (1450)—1650 m
b. mountain taiga with Pinus sibirica subzone, 1650—2000 (2100) m
4. high — mountain zone over 2000 (2100) m
a. subgoltsy subzone, 2000 (2100)—2200 (2300) m
b. goltsy subzone, 2200 (2300)—2500 (2600) m
