This work deals with the political language of the years 1926-1939. The lexical data come from international press: Robotnik, Ilustrowany Kurier Codzienny. Gazeta Warszawska. The author presents vocabulary, which can be included in the lexical and semantic field of the names of social groups and classses. The author attempts to account for the richness of forms and she tries to establish the links between lexical means used in texts and political views represented by particular titles. The conducted data analysis leads to two fundamental conclusions. First, the lexis in political texts directly reveals political views and it constitutes the basis for the characterisation of a given group. Secondly, neutral lexical units, thanks to appropriate contextualisation, undergo the process of axiologisation and they take on positive or negative values. This phenomenon has extra-linguistic roots, as it is an outcome of the relation between language users and the described reality.en_EN
