Księgi miejskie Wojnicza jako nowe źródło do dawnego słownictwa polskiego (Uwagi wstępne)

Abstract

Documents of the town of Wojnicz, which were published by historians, are the source of data not dealt with in linguistic research so far. The article gives preliminary comments on the sample vocabulary selected from one of the volumes of town bills dating back to the years 1561-1649. Already a superficial analysis of the text shows that the documents are of great value for the acquaintance with the 17th century vocabulary. This is evident in the comparison between the vocabulary of account books and Linde’s dictionary. The books supplement the dictionary rendering new lexical data unknown to Linde. It is considered that the analysis of the manuscript by a linguist would give a new possibility of using the material in the studies of historical dialects. The present edition prepared for the historians does not give such an opportunity.
