Abstract

The authors of the following articles are mainly researchers but also practitioners: managers, local councilors, and of course social leaders. Their extensive experience in the public service and in the labor market reinforces the strengths of the presented texts. They were created thanks to observing, participating, and initiating of social and civic activism. The authors occur therefore in many roles. Research on modern social leadership, far more than any other subject, requires direct involvement and connection between many different levels of activity. Preparing the book for publication, I tried to make it complementary and symmetrical, to make it reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the issue, so that it can serve researchers, students and practitioners. The work on this monograph is one of several projects related to the title question (the social leadership in the twenty-first century society) that have been undertaken by Pedagogical University in Krakow in the academic year of 2012/2013.
