During operation of wire ropes the wires suffer damages. The most frequent damages are wire breaks, corrosion, abrasion of both inner and outer wires. With the time of operation the number of defects increases and their weakening effect on the rope concentrate. To ensure safety of rope transport one has to know the values and the distribution of the defects. The best results in determining the defects of the rope offers the magnetic method of the static field, which consists in a longitudinal magnetizing of a rope section inside the magnetic detecting head. The defects in the rope give rise to alternations in the magnetic field distribution in the head which produce electrical signals in sensor. The use of the sensors with the Hall-effect converters has widened the information scope about defects at the rope testing by the static field longitudinal magnetization.en_EN
