dc.description.abstractA general characteristic of qualities and defects of boronized cases was given. Properties of Fe[2]В and FeB were characterized, and structure and phase composition of boronized cases with consideration of the influence of chemical composition of steels on thickness and structure of the diffusion case were discussed. Survey and characteristic of boronizing powders to be applied, containing B[4]C, B-amorphic and В[2]О[3], were presented. Parameters and conditions of the process as well as the way of thermal treatment of the boronized parts were mentioned. It was pointed out to the effects of activator composition on the structure of the boronized cases received in powders with B[4]C. It was pointed to practical advantage of boranizing by alumino- thermic method with utilization of B[2]O[3] obtained through dehydration of H[3]BO[3]. In conclusion, examples of application of boronizing were given.en_EN
