The paper presents the results of the observations of the invertebrate fauna of the pond of Dąbie in Kraków. The investigations were carried out on leeches, aquatic insects and four groups of crustaceans during the season of 1986. The quality as well as the quantity of examined groups of animals were taken into account. 7 species of leeches with Helobdella stagnalis predominating were found. Among crustaceans the first place is taken by Asellus aquaticus (57,5%) and the second by Cladocera (29,5%). Ostracoda were the rarest. With regard to insects, Ephemeroptera predominated (65,8%). The next in order were: Rhynchota-Heteroptera (12%), Trichoptera (7,7%), Diptera (5,8%) and Lepidoptera-Nymphula nymphaeta (4%). The fauna of the pond of Dąbie in Kraków is fairly rich in spite of its being an artificial and down-town pond.en_EN
