The article presents Karl Jaspers’ idea of truth, which is linked with communicating and the temporal being of the man. “To be oneself and to be genuinely so, does not mean anything else but unconditional being in communication.” Levels of human existence distinguished by Jaspers were analysed together with associated types of communication and types of truth in them. The roots of this original idea are to be found in Kant’s transcendentalism, which was however enlivened and motioned by historism. In order to clarify Jaspers’s complex thought, contextualise it in the history of philosophy and highlight its peculiarity, chosen ideas are revoked of philosophers who undertake the topics of truth, communication and human existence.en_EN
