The article is devoted to Jacek Kuroń’s concept of civil education. His ideas on this topic formed a part of his beliefs regarding a self-organizing society, which should function in opposition to structure of the communist state. According to Jacek Kuroń, schools should be flexible and try to respond to new challenges which are created by external factors, such as globalization. In the article, Jacek Kuroń’s theoretical model of civil education is shown against the historical background which determined his views. The article also shows that, despite some changes in that theoretical model, it has a more or less constant core.en_EN
