Zasada estetycznego dystansu w prozie senioralnej Mariana Pankowskiego

Abstract

In this sketch, senior prose by Marian Pankowski is subject to analysis, together with techniąues of distancing the narrator from the world presented. One of such techniąues is a theatrical metaphor, other include pastiche on Goethe’s prose and the author’s meta-literary commentaries. Pankowskie narrator conducts a gamę with theme, style and possibilities of fiction. The created world is overtly conventional, and the cognitive value is diminished. What is important is the status of fiction with its multiple repetitions and variants. Thus, Pankowski is placed in the current of contemporary literaturę whose authors are aware of artistic rules and demonstrate this awareness. In aesthetic distance they see a chance of renewing the relationship with the reader.
