Rolnicza baza ekonomiczna małych miast regionu krakowskiego

Abstract

The results of research on situation and role of agriculture in small towns of Cracow Region are presented in the article. Agriculture does usually not make the town creating function; not including this function in research on the functional structure of towns, however, leads to its warp. The author analyses main demographic social and econohiical factors of agriculture, emphasises the role of big, productive and specialised farms and the place of agriculture in the spatial structure of the town. In some of the nearly 30 cities under consideration specialised agriculture and associated institutions are the main factors of their development which is the case, for example, in Proszowice or Krzeszowice.
