Netokracja wobec literatury

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to show the function of literature in the environment of the new media, most of all the Internet, in the postmodern social reality. The starting point for the author’s reflections is the book written by A. Bard and J. Söderquist, which is made the object of critical analysis and evaluation, also with the perspective of using it in the description of the above-mentioned issue. In their publication, Bard and Söderquist make an attempt at combining two approaches of modem communicology: the critical approach (inspired by Marxism) and technological determinism, using them to describe the contemporary social transformations, the new model of power and new power elite. Sociological reflections of the authors of Netocracy are confronted with the opinions of Polish literary critics, such as Dariusz Nowacki, Przemysław Czapliński, and Krzysztof Uniłowski.
