Wydarzenia w Kopalni Wujek na tle sytuacji strajkowej na Górnym Śląsku w grudniu 1981 roku

Abstract

Założeniem zasadniczym rozprawy jest pokazanie przyczyn, oraz przebiegu wydarzeń, które dokonały się na Górnym Śląsku i w Zagłębiu Dąbrowskim, w grudniu 1981 roku, a których kulminacją była śmierć górników kopalni ?Wujek". Ponadto została dokonana analiza tego,

w jaki sposób zmieniała się pamięć społeczna, w stosunku do przemian ustrojowych, jak rodziła się legenda ?górników z Wujka", oraz jak w dniu dzisiejszym wygląda pamięć społeczna o tej historii z przed dwudziestu kilku lat.

Stąd przyjęty w rozprawie tytuł: Wydarzenia w Kopalni Wujek na tle sytuacji strajkowej na Górnym Śląsku w grudniu 1981 roku.

W rozdziale pierwszym: Droga ku dekompozycji polskiej wersji realnego socjalizmu ukazane zostały najważniejsze wydarzenia, mechanizmy mające decydujący wpływ na rozpad systemu komunistycznego. Uwzględnione zostały momenty wystąpień, buntów w kraju, szczególnie w latach 1956, 1968, 1970, 1976, 1980/1981

Rozdział II: Kopalnia Wujek a górnictwo węgla kamiennego w Polsce przynosi krótki zarys dziejów górnictwa na Górnym Śląsku od XVI w. (Zarys dziejów górnictwa na ziemiach polskich), dzieje kopalni ? Wujek" od ok. XIX wieku do 1945 r. ( Kopalnia?Wujek" - od powstania do zakończenia II wojny światowej). Rozdział III: Strajki na Górnym Śląsku w grudniu 1981 r. - Dokładniejszej analizie autor podał cztery śląskie strajki: KWK ?Manifest Lipcowy", KWK ?Ziemowit", KWK ?Piast", oraz Huta ?Katowice". Zamieścił także uwagi o możliwości zbrojnej konfrontacji w Hucie "Baildon" i KWK "Halemba"

Rozdział IV: Kopalnia Wujek 13-16 grudnia 1981 został pomyślany jako rekonstrukcja wydarzeń pomiędzy 13, a 16 grudnia 1981 roku na kopalni ?Wujek" i w najbliższej okolicy. Dokonano tam również bilansu działań na tejże kopalni, zarówno ze strony strajkujących jak i sił pacyfikujących zakład.

W ostatnim, VI rozdziale: Legenda Wujka, omówiono ewolucję myśli i odbioru społecznego wydarzeń na kopalni Wujek; stąd też rozdział ten podzielony został na

3 podrozdziały (Legenda 1980-1981, Legenda 1982-1989, Legenda 1990-czasy współczesne) Uzupełnieniem narracji w rozdziałach od trzeciego do piątego są rozbudowane aneksy zawierające mapy, zdjęcia, fotokopie dokumentów, wierszy, prasy podziemnej, postulatów strajkowych, tabele, wykresy i inne.

My thesis was based on the judiciary documents, and on the saved maps of pacification of some Silesian industries. I have also conducted eight interviews with witnesses of those events. Additionally I have also used some historical books and articles which were to enrich my thesis.

In the first chapter I describe critical moments of history of postwar Poland until 1981. Among them there were: the rebellion of workers in Poznań in June 1956, strikes and its pacification on the coast in December 1970, the birth of Solidarność (and the role of pope John Paul the second during the fall of communism).

Second chapter contains the information of the whole coal mining in Poland described on the basis of the events of "Wujek" mine in Katowice. This chapter also includes crucial information about the visits of an important persons of that times such as: Nikita Chruszczow, Edward Gierek. It also includes the data of winning competitions among the mines, and the data describing the national decorations for the miners and the whole mine.

Chapter III - Strikes in Upper Silesia in December 1981.

It introduces the history of protest actions in this region in the first weeks of Martial Law which means from the 13th to the 28th of December when the last strikes started to expire in the coal mine "Piast" in Tychy.

I found some police and military services plans and it occurred that they were imprecise and out of date. What is more, the described events were falsified as they did not take place.

In this chapter I also wonder about the similarities and differences between the strikes in Upper Silesia and the strikes in other regions of our country which took place from 1945 to 1981.

Chapter four: It is written as a reconstruction of the events between 13th and 16th of December in "Wujek mine" and the closest surrounding. It shows the preparations, actions and effects of the pacification from the part of the miners and the police and the military service. It also includes a reconstruction of places where strikers were killed or hurt.

The last chapter entitled The legend of "Wujek Mine" presents the whole legend of "Wujek" mine which is divided into 3 stages. The first stage is connected with miners' cross. It concerns the period of Communism 1980-1981. The second stage concerns years from 1981 to 1989 that is the periods including times of traumatic events until the fall of communism. And finally the third stage which lasts till nowadays. Traumatic events from 16th of December 1981 gave the beginning to the legend of "Wujek Mine". Death of the 9 miners made this place very special - it joined to the Panteon of the places of national memory next to the Poznań crosses and crosses of the coast. This place was treated as a symbol of the polls fight with communism regime.

The rich supplements of annexes including photos of pacification and unpublished yet poetry devoted to miners from "Wujek mine".
