Abstract

The article presents the complex, but very interesting directions of scientific-research cooperation of Cracow and Lublin circles of historians of education. The analysis includes the period from the times of the first Masters of both centres to the times of Professor Zygmunt Ruta, the Cracow Master, who, despite official retirement, has not retired cognitively and continues to inspire historians of education in the whole country with his ideas. This paper shows both the biography and career development of the distinguished Professor and his activity fostering scientific exchange of ideas and the process of achieving pedagogical mastery of the historians of education in Lublin. Also most important publications are discussed, as visible evidence of scientific maturing to further academic degrees in Lublin and Cracow. The paper makes an interesting contribution to the history of educational merits of a distinguished person and scientific mentor, as Professor Zygmunt Ruta is perceived in the academic circles of Lublin.
