dc.description.abstractThe article presents the recommendations of the World Health Organization concerning injury prevention and the promotion of children and teenagers safety. The author presents the assumptions of ‘Child Safety Good Practice Guide’ developed under the European programme ‘Child Safety Action Plan – CSAP’. The overview of the strategies of good practice for unintentional child and teenagers injury prevention includes: engineering consisting of modification of the safety standards of products or environmental changes in the physical surroundings of a person exposed to injury accidents; the enforcement of the policy or introduction of legal regulations and tools for control and assurance of the compliance with the regulations; education – media campaigns and educational programmes consisting of inculcation of strategies that aim at changing awareness, attitude and behaviour.en
