Aggression and aggressive behavior are the concepts connected with violence. This can be
seen in reality, since changes in the attitude of our society towards the most important values
(the worship of money and omnipresent rivalry) make the violence in our lives ubiquitous.
In this situation, unfortunately, the greatest victims are children. Aggressive behavior
reinforces violence, and this is largely either deliberately (beating children and other forms
of harassment), or sometimes unconsciously (unconscious mental hurting of child) but it
always causes distortion in children’s psyche. Violence is therefore also in school’s agenda.
Teachers fight with demoralization of part of the youth, on the one hand to carry out their
tasks, on the other – to protect other children and young people against possible attacks.
Preparing for such situations is very important in the context of new problems concerning
schools and education of youth in general. Aggression and violence is only one element of
interrelated activities, behaviors and situations that must be at least understood, to prevent
them in the fullest manner. The aim of this paper is to present teachers’ opinions on the scale
of violence and aggression among children and adolescents in schools. Teachers in this study
also presented their concerns and expectations with regard to the need to eliminate and
prevent its accumulation, with particular emphasis on school.
