Abstract

The article presents the issue of social participation in the context of its impact on the functioning of the region, and in particular on the effectiveness and efficiency of the region’s information policy. The author drew attention to the shaping of civic attitudes of the inhabitants of the local community in the context of the functioning system of information flow between the territorial authorities and the inhabitants. Selected informational policy tools have been presented and discussed, including public relations, organizational culture. The author’s goal was to show that correctly developed and applied information policy of local authorities can have a significant impact on public participation.
