Abstract

Co może robić fotograf w bibliotece? Fotografować! Uwieczniać, notować, zapisywać obrazy, a co za tym idzie – utrwalać i upowszechniać wiedzę o działalności tej instytucji. W czasach, w których obraz jest najszybszym i najchętniej wybieranym sposobem przekazywania komunikatów, zmienia się rola oraz stopień odpowiedzialności osób, które posługują się aparatami fotograficznymi oraz upowszechniają swoje prace. Niniejszy artykuł stanowi próbę prześledzenia wybranych zagadnień związanych z obecnością fotografa (zawodowca lub amatora) w bibliotece oraz rolą, jaką osoba fotografująca pełni w upowszechnianiu wiedzy na temat działalności biblioteki/bibliotek.

What can a photographer do in a library? Take photographs! Immortalize, take notes, save images , and, hence, record and popularize the knowledge about the work and activity of this institution. Nowadays, when image is the fastest and the most willingly chosen means of conveying information, the role and degree of responsibility of those who make use of their cameras and popularize their work are changing. The following article is an attempt to investigate some selected issues related to the presence of a photographer (a professional or an amateur) in the library; it also presents the role of the photographer in the context of popularizing the knowledge of libraries’ work and functioning.
