dc.description.abstract | The author points out an important issue such as the broadening of the definition of a picture. This
is facilitated, inter alia, by the creation of dimensional works whose form may be associated with relief or
sculpture and which are identified by their authors as painterly objects. This group of objects, includes, among
others, pictures made in a weaving technique. The texts compares traditional textile depiction techniques with new
ones, e.g. compositions made on table cloths, oil-cloths, blankets, bed sheets or with the use of prints or
embroidery. The analyzed works include pieces by, inter alia: Jolanta Owidzkia, Włodzimierz Cygan, Ewa Latkowska-
Żychska and Silja Purannen. | en |
