The aim of the present research was to determine the level of motivation of upper secondary school students to learn human biology. Students of general secondary schools (liceum) taking advanced courses in human biology showed better motivation to learn than those who had opted for the basic level course. The effect of classroom instruction of the subject under discussion was a drop in the number of positively motivated students with an increased number of students exhibiting neutral motivation to learn.en
