„Przewodnik Powiatu Żywieckiego” was first and the only one newspaper
which was published in the Żywiec region during the Galician autonomy. The
first number was put into print in 1900 and it was completely dedicated to
the problems of the city and its district. It contained information about the
local associations, cultural events, but also about issues essential for people of
the region, such as the condition of roads, education and healthcare. What is
more, a two-page supplement concerning the local announcements and advertising
was an integral part of ‘Przewodnik...’.
