Polish children start distinguishing different forms of cases in the end of the second year of their life. Nouns in the Accusative or the Genitive are frequent in Polish, so they are in children’s speech. The general functions of these two cases are similar very often, for example as a name of an object or as a meaning of partitiveness. This is the main reason that children mix the Accusative and the Genitive forms of nouns in their speech.en
