Studenci zagraniczni w Lublinie. Studenci socjologii KUL, UMCS i medycyny. Uniwersytetu Medycznego o swoich zagranicznych kolegach

Abstract

Sytuacja demograficzna i ekonomiczna wymusza na polskich uczelniach otwarcie się na studentów z zagranicy. Przykładem na to są lubelskie uczelnie, które mają różną ofertę studiów, od umożliwienia wspólnego studiowania z polskimi studentami w języku polskim po wyodrębnione struktury z oddzielnym tokiem studiów w języku angielskim. Wybór kierunku i trybu studiowania wpływa na kontakty z polskimi studentami, a za razem na to w jaki sposób są oceniani przez Polaków. W pracy omówione są opinie studentów uniwersytetów (KUL i UMCS ), gdzie studenci studiują razem i Uniwersytetu Medycznego, w którym dla studentów zagranicznych utworzony został odrębny wydział anglojęzyczny. Stwierdzono, że niezależnie od poziomu umiędzynarodowienia uczelni – studenci tworzą dwa odrębne światy.

The demographic and economic situations make Polish universities open up to international students. The Lublin universities are such an example. They offer a wide and diverse range of faculties: from common studying together with Polish nationals – courses conducted in Polish – to separate structures with courses of study delivered in English. The choice of faculty and the mode of study affect the contacts with Polish students and the way the foreign students are evaluated by Poles. This paper deals with the opinions of students of the Catholic University of Lublin and Maria Curie Skłodowska University, where international and Polish students study together. There are also points of view of the Medical University students where a separate English Language Division has been created for international students. It has been found out that regardless of the level of internationalization of a university – students make two distinct worlds.
