Abstract

The article points towards the interdisciplinary character of special pedagogy. It presents its developmental tendencies since the times of Maria Grzegorzewska until modern times and the way of further development, which includes skilled use of the achievements of other sciences, especially in the range of practical use, in two ranges: cognitive and research. For that purpose the vision of special pedagogy by Maria Grzegorzewska and the borderlands of special pedagogy and neurosciences were presented.
