Abstract
The article describes the issues connected to the interdisciplinary approach to the process of rehabilitation of people with visual disability, points out the necessity for the psychologist to take more part not only as a diagnostician, but most of all as a person preventing the psychological breakdowns of the disabled child's parents and as a person that helps blinded people return to their mental stability. Together with that, some synonymous terms were discussed, which are wrongly considered substitutes, which makes the communication of multiple specialists working together in the process of rehabilitation difficult The positive tendencies of development support of a child with visual disability within early rehabilitation were pointed out, but the attention was also put on neglecting the early implementation of special orientation training and those aspects of a blind child not covered by the therapists' care. Finally, the article points out to the enormous possibilities of active participation in the life of visually impaired children due to the development of information technology, especially with the use of and constant development of new computer programmes, enabling verbal communication with the device.
