Abstract
The article presents the history of the Institute of Security and Citizenship Education of the Pedagogical University in Cracow and the pre-existing units in the years 1996–2015. It presents changes in its organizational structure and discusses fields of study carried out in the unit. It also presents the achievements and scientific interests of employees.
