Abstract

The article “Israeli Military Strategies” consists of four subsections which cover the whole subject. The first one, “Israeli Defence Forces” describes in detail the structure and division of Israeli troops specifying their combat equipment as well as the number of soldiers per contingent. The second subsection, “Threats to Israel’s Security”, includes a brief description of defence strategies. There is a list of countries which are the biggest threat to Israel due to conflicts of interests, unexplained disputes, as well as territorial, religious and ethnic antagonisms. The third subsection – “Strengthening Israeli Army – Tefen Procurement Plan”, describes the program which is, according to the author of the article, the most important program currently being implemented in the Israeli army. It aims to modernize the army and it focuses on international military cooperation. The last subsection “Special American-Israeli Relationships” presents the history of international relationships, starting from the establishment of the State of Israel up to the present day. Keeping friendly relationships with the USA is a matter of overriding importance for each Israeli government, since it is associated with the cooperation at various dimensions, i.e. trade, economic and military one.
