Abstract

Each political power is interested in their lifetime. Especially after the crossing of the crisis. Therefore is not surprising that for the sustainability of their lives political powers are trying to find an emergency exit. This applies in particular to non-democratic political systems. After the abolition of martial law in Poland, which took place in the period from December 13, 1981 to July 22, 1983, Polish communist authorities tried to encourage its citizens to cooperate with PRON, which was politically fully controlled by the Communist Party (PZPR) and Security Service (SB). In order not to lose control in the socio-political life of the Polish society, the regional structures of SB started an invigilation of the regional PRON committees since 1983. This work included invigilation and documentation gathering of not only the regional PRON committees activists, but also the detailed documentation of the socio-political life events. The scope of the invigilation done and its range are described in detail in the files of the operation codenamed „Unity”, regarding the Tarnów PRON committee from 1983–1990.
