Twórcza aktywność matematyczna uczniów związana z rozwiązywaniem pewnych zadań na zastosowanie wzorów Viète’a

Abstract

In this article we propose ways of developing the active and creative attitude of students towards solving mathematical problems. The tasks were sourced from various mathematical competitions for secondary school students, such as the so-called Mathematical Olympiad, and require the use of Vieta’s formulas for third-degree polynomials. These problems inspire students to conduct their own elementary research work and foster their creative attitude towards mathematics. This article is dedicated mainly to students who are pre-service mathematics teachers, but may also be of use to in-service teachers.
