- Theoretical background and methods in didactics of mathematics.
- Conceptions and methods for pre-service and in-service mathematics’ teacher training.
- Methods of obtaining mathematical goals at different levels of mathematical education.
- Teaching and learning process at different levels of mathematical education.
- Didactical proposals for different mathematical courses and innovative modes of their organizing.
- Proposals of original lectures, classes or seminars for university students of mathematics.
- Relationships between pure mathematics and mathematics for teaching at schools.
- New technologies in mathematical education.
- Mathematical modeling and application of mathematical theories for teaching and learning process.
- Presentation of the best diploma and master dissertations.
All contributions are peer reviewed. Each manuscript is double blind reviewed.

The role of visualisation in the process of generalisation
(2015)In my paper, I discuss the results of individual observations of pupils aged 13-14. These children undertook an attempt to solve problems which were designed in order to bring about an inductive type of generalizing. The ... -
Wokół liczb i szeregów harmonicznych
(2015)The harmonic series is one of the most celebrated infinite series ofmathematics. From a pedagogical point of view, the harmonic series providesa wealth of opportunities. Applications such as Gabriel’s wedding cake ... -
High School Identities
(2015)In 1969, Polish mathematician and logician, Alfred Tarski asked if all the identities true in the set of natural numbers involving the constant 1, addition, multiplication, and exponentiation can be derived from the ... -
O zjawisku zniekształcania obrazu matematyki
(2015)In this paper, we identify the phenomenon of false conviction. We analyze the definition of false conviction and provide the typology of false convictions, including their logical, geometric, cognitive and methodological types. ... -
Introduction to E. Nelson’s internal set theory
(2015)An axiomatic approach to Non-standard Analysis by E. Nelson is presented in a simplified form. The main aim of the article is strictly the popularization of NSA, and not its foundations. No special preparation in mathematical ... -
Wykorzystanie prac Stanisława Dróżdża jako środków dydaktycznych w nauczaniu
(2015)As far as teaching practice in mathematics is concerned, we use different methods, forms and tools, which enable pupils to acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical skills more efficiently. Stanisław Dróżdż (1939-2007) ... -
Quasi-arithmetic means
(2015)We present a list of geometric problems with solutions that lead to known or less known means. We also prove, by elementary means, some property for so-called quasi-arithmetic means. We use the proved result to justify ... -
Iterations of homographic functions and recurrence equations involving a homographic function
(2015)The formulas for the $m$-th iterate $(m \in N)$ of an arbitrary homographicfunction $H$ are determined and the necessary and sufficient conditions for a solution ofthe equation $y_{m+1} = H(y_m)$, $m \in N$ to be an ... -
Leonardo Pisano called Fibonacci, between advanced mathematics, history of mathematics and mathematics education: three examples drawn from Liber Quadratorum
(2015)In this research, three problems faced by Leonardo Pisano, called Fibonacci, are dealt with. The main purpose is to show that history of mathematics can offer interesting material for mathematics education. The approach ... -

Przyszli nauczyciele wobec modelowania matematycznego
(2014)The term mathematical modelling covers a wide range of activities. These are not only purely mathematical skills, but also skills referring to a framework of modelled situation. For this reason, acquiring the skills ... -
Twórcza rola patologii w matematyce
(2014)We discuss the creative role of objects called pathologies by mathematicians. Pathologies may become “domesticated” and give rise to new mathematical domains. Thus they influence changes in mathematical intuition. -
Fibonacci polynominals of order $k$
(2014)In this paper we give formulas determining the Fibonacci polynomials of order $k$ using the so-called generalized Newton symbols, i.e., the coefficients in the expansion of $(1+z +z^2 +. . .+z^{k−1})^n$ with respect to ... -
Co możemy opisać układem dynamicznym?
(2014)In this paper we present several examples of simple dynamical systems describing various real processes. We start from well know Fibonacci sequence, through Lotka-Volterra model of prey-predator system, love affair dynamics, ...
